Injuries and Illness

Injuries and Insurance

Players who are injured and/or bleeding should be removed from the play immediately.  A First Aid Kit and ice packs are kept inside the clubhouse in the Canteen.  All registered players are covered by an insurance policy taken out through Football Brisbane. Please contact the Secretary as soon as possible after the injury and they will supply you with the appropriate form.

Illness and Health Problems

Please ensure that you advise your Team Coach and Manager if your child has an illness or medical condition, such as Asthma. However, parents are the ones responsible for deciding if their child is fit to train or play.
Children who regularly require medication, such as Ventolin, will not be permitted to train or play in competition games unless they have their medication readily available. Players who need to use a Ventolin puffer must be taken off the field while the Ventolin is administered. Only the player or the parents/caregiver of that player should administer Ventolin or other medication. A parent must always be present to assist and monitor their children in these circumstances — it is never the Team Coach or Manager’s responsibility.

Players wearing glasses must have “safety lenses” in their glasses and they must be secured to the head with a sports strap.
