Wet Weather Information
Always assume the match is going ahead unless you hear directly from your Team Manager or the Club.
It is important to understand that matches are only cancelled when fields are unplayable or risk of lightening/hail — not just because it is raining.
Home Games field closure on competition days will be advised through our Facebook page:
Away Games, check Football Brisbane:
Wet weather information for home and away games will also be available on the facebook pages of the club you are scheduled to play at, and this is sometimes the best way to find out fast.
Heavy rain on the previous days may have made fields unplayable, whereas heavy rain on the match day may allow the match to go ahead. The decision to close fields is taken by the host club and is then advised to Football Brisbane 7:30am.
Occasionally a referee may rule “no play” after a ground has been inspected immediately prior to the match start time.
All Clubs will aim to play if possible. Remember :
Training during the week may be cancelled at the discretion of the Team Coach, so keep in touch with your Team Manager during wet weather. In some instances the Club will call off training if the fields are too wet and likely to be damaged.
In any event it is up to the parents as to whether they wish their child to train/play in the prevailing conditions.
